I am a teacher of many years experience from Sydney Australia. I visited Michaela last year. It was amazing. In the afternoon, I was allowed to visit (on my own) any classroom (not just selected top classes). Every class was very very impressive. Kids were all engaged. And there was "open ended" learning as well. The kids I spoke to on the tour and at lunchtime were so proud and positive. I wasn't surprised at how good their GCSE results were. Everything KB says rings so true.
